Hey there, superheroes! 🦸‍♂️ Have you ever thought about how amazing water is? You drink it, splash in it, and see it fall as rain! But did you know that water gives you energy, helps you grow, and keeps you feeling great? Let’s dive in and find out why water is a real-life superpower!


Where Does Water Come From? 🌊


Water is all around us! It comes from lakes, rivers, and even underground. In Wales, we get lots of rain ☔, which fills up rivers and big storage lakes called reservoirs. This water is cleaned and sent to our homes so we can drink it straight from the tap!


Why Does Your Body Need Water? 💦


Did you know that more than half of your body is made of water? That’s why drinking water helps you:

Stay cool when you run and play.

✅ Move important nutrients around your body.

✅ Get rid of waste your body doesn’t need.

✅ Think clearly and feel happy!


What Happens If You Don’t Drink Enough? 😟


If you don’t drink enough water, your body gets dehydrated. This can make you:

🚨 Feel really thirsty.

🚨 Get a headache.

🚨 Feel tired or dizzy.

🚨 Have a dry mouth.

That’s why drinking water every day is so important!


How Much Water Do You Need? 🥤


Most kids need 1.5 litres of water every day. That’s about 6-8  cups! If it’s hot outside or you’re running around a lot, you will need to drink even more!


Fun Ways to Drink More Water! 🎉


💧 Carry a cool water bottle with you.

💧 Eat yummy foods with lots of water, like watermelon and cucumbers. 🍉🥒

💧 Try adding lemon or berries to your water for a fun taste!
